Chrysler, Audi changes Logo Emblem

by admin on Dec.20, 2009, under News

Global economic recession really had a great impact on the Automotive Industry all throughout the world. Bankruptcy became prevalent on major automotive makers and on some small scale auto manufacturers because of the rampant decrease in car sales.

Amidst the world financial crisis, it turns out that the change on the logo of Chrysler was part of Fiat’s strategy to restructure the struggling American auto maker. It’s not that frequent that an auto maker creates a new logo, but for a company that’s trying to rebuild its reputation, it should come no surprise that Chrysler has formulated an all new emblem. A drawing from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office depicts a winged logo that depicts on the company’s traditional branding.

The original winged Chrysler logo featured a more abstract design, while the logo of the late 1990s was more similar to this latest treatment. The winged look was scrapped by Cerberus after it acquired Chrysler from Daimler, but it appears that brief hiatus is coming to an end.

The new logo is the sleekest and most modern interpretation of Chrysler’s wings yet. The thing that is not present on the new logo is the pentastar or the traditional wax seal with a ribbon. The word ‘Chrysler’ is simply embossed in the middle of the wings. Some car critics even commented that this new thin-winged logo of Chrysler might be an indication of the decrease on their sales.

Meanwhile, another auto maker, Audi, has also changed its logo. To celebrate its 100th year as a car company, Audi recently restructured its logo, giving it a shinier look and changing both the font and the positioning of the Audi name with respect to the four rings.

Will the Small Be the New Big?

by admin on Dec.19, 2009, under News

For decades and almost a century, roads have been infiltrated by the luxury sedans, vans and huge trucks. These are vehicles that are use to transport people from one place to another. But as time passes by, things (traffic, global warming, oil insufficiency, economic crisis) get a little more complicated than before that all that is needed to be done includes getting a low-cost, low-maintenance, fuel-efficient, and, most specially, eco-friendly car.

Hesitant as they may seem, the Indian Auto Maker had already came up with a literally little solution to this predicament in the presence of Tata Nano. The latter is a rear-engined, four-passenger city car built by Tata Motors and is very fuel efficient, reaching around 26 kilometers per liter. Well, the hesitation later turned to pride that they had with the car. To date, a lot of car makers are also trying to produce such cars that will also attempt to reach the middle and lower class people and to bridge advancement in technology and efficiency in transportation with the preservation of Mother Nature. They are often called compact cars and super mini cars.

On 26th of last month, indonesiamatters.com released an article. In here, international car makers around the globe are enticed to invest in Indonesia with regards to the production of cars like the Tata Nano. This is inclusive of huge tax break and other incentive schemes provided that they will use 60% level of local components in production. If this will push through, this type of vehicle will be sold at only around 60M Indonesian Rupiah or $6434.3164. With this price, it is more likely that people from the target market would be able to afford it. And if these small cars make it big in the auto industry, meaning tons of sales, then probably, we can make the complicated things a little easier again.

When it comes to the mid-sized performance-luxury segment, there’s a pecking order that’s pretty easy to spot. The BMW 5 Series ranks on top for those with a performance bent, while the Mercedes-Benz E-Class focuses more on the finer things in life. And that’s about it. The Future of Car Safety is Here

by admin on Dec.16, 2009, under News

Ford introduces the automotive industry’s first-ever production inflatable seat belts, which are designed to prevent injuries in car accidents. The combination of seat belt and air bag technology is more focused on neck, head and chest injuries, specifically in older passengers and children.
According to Ford Motor Co., the new technology will introduce in the rear seats of the next-generation Ford Explorer which begins production by next year, but still they have plans to eventually offer them on car industries all over the world. Unlike any traditional car air bags which rely on a heating-generating chemical reaction. The belts inflate slower and to a lower pressure.
Ford Safety Technical Leader also said that this is very logical system and simple but it requires extensive trial and error to prove out the inflatable seat belts and ensure reliable performance in crash situation.
We all know that this isn’t the first time we’ve heard about the inflatable seat belts technology. In fact Ford may not be the first time to market with the concept. The Lexus LFA also featured a SRS seatbelt as well. So we don’t have any idea if the next-generation Ford Explorer will beat the LFA. But Ford assures that they will do whatever it takes to make the best hi-technology.
So the big question is, how much does system cost? Ford would not say how much extra the inflatable seatbelts will cost, but they intend to make the price very reasonable, very affordable for people particularly for families.

2010 Buick LaCrosse

by admin on Dec.15, 2009, under News

With its new styling, 2010 Buick LaCrosse deserves the title as the “new Buick” of the new GM. There are lots of things that we enjoy about this car. LaCrosse is a beautiful car; the interior is handsome with its modern styling and has a stunning performance. The design is completely fresh and is easily recognizable as a Buick by its waterfall grille and smooth sculpted surfaces. All features are intended to represent modern elegance.

Luxury enthusiasts have come to expect that LaCrosse can deliver modern luxury, interior craftsmanship and dramatic design. The closed-in feeling created by the narrow viewing slits must be the latest fashion trend today. We see this car as a Lexus and Infiniti competition. Every Buick has an extremely comfortable armrest and every enthusiast loves their navigation system.

Of course, there is no sense judging this design from a picture, but on the road I envision that this car is going to stand out for years to come. This gives GM the ability to compete with Lexus and Infiniti crowd in their own size class. Something I don’t think the CTS could do. And I am just proud of what GM is doing.

Up Close with Sports Cars

by admin on Dec.13, 2009, under All Car Wallpapers

With all the nice-looking cars out there, which could be the best buy? One thing that is difficult to decide on is choosing the best sports car. Different car makers make it a point that the design and comfort is achieved without sacrificing the performance of the car.

The Ferrari 250 GTO may look like a combination of a classic sports car. But it has a v12 engine and it could accelerate from 0-60mph in just 6 seconds. Another popular car is the Porsche Carrera GT. The interiors are made with carbon and other leather materials which really gives it a certain appeal to it. The Bugatti Veyron is said to be one of the fastest street car with the 16 cylinder engine. And who can forget the trademark of the car with the two white stripes. The Dodge Viper is appreciated by many and it can be seen often in movies and commercials. The Lamborghini Diablo is really the devil of the road. It has a maximum speed of about 202 mph.

2011 Toyota Sienna Preview

by admin on Dec.11, 2009, under News

The Toyota Sienna is a family minivan currently manufactured in the United States by the Japanese automaker Toyota. It was first introduced in the United States in 1993 and later replaced the Toyota Previa in the US market. It doesn’t have the most elegant look on its first release but it boasts an excellent crash test ratings. In January 2004, the second-generation Sienna was unveiled at the Detroit Auto Show. They made a very successful redesign with this generation, while the third generation was premiered in Los Angeles Auto Show on December 2, 2009.

Toyota will stage the world premiere of the all-new 2011 Sienna minivan at a press conference at the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show. The redesigned 2011 Toyota Sienna kicks off the third-generation of this minivan. The Sienna will join the Camry, Prius, Rav4, Venza, Highlander and many more on Toyota’s ultra-flexible “MC” platform. It had been heavily modified around the hood, front fender and the entire rear quarter panel

The 2011 Sienna almost certainly will stay with a version of the current 3.5-liter V-6, though it’ll use a six-speed automatic transmission instead of a five-speed. A bigger step would be introduction of a gas-electric hybrid version.

The 2011 Sienna could offer a table-and-chairs arrangement like the Chrysler Town & Country and Dodge Grand Caravan plus a satellite TV reception and USB iPod connectivity.

Production of the ‘11 Sienna will start in January of 2010 at Toyota’s Princeton, Indian plant — the plant formerly charged with Tundra production.

Onuk Sazan: Another Turkish Supercar

by admin on Dec.10, 2009, under News

Turkey is making its way to become part of the European Union. How? Just look at the Onuk Sazan – it is a brand-new sports car that might just be known as a supercar due to its engine and looks.

This car was designed and built by a certain Dr. Onuk, who lost his son Kaan in a car accident. He then made the cars name into Onuk Sazan because Sazan is one of the nicknames for Kaan.

Some car analyst relates the car into Ferraris Dino and Enzo obviously due to its looks. But will its performance be at least close to the Ferraris?

Well, in base trim you’re apparently talking about a 2,000-pound rear-wheel drive sportster that’s powered by a turbocharged Nissan VQ V6 that’s good for about 450 horsepower. That’s a lot of power but, what if for a little weight penalty you could step up to General Motors’ LS7? That would net you about 512 hp, 480 lb-ft of twist and just 2,200 pounds of vehicle to move around. Now we’re talking. Okay, but how much? This is the bad news: €200,000, or about $300,000. That seems radically high to us, but we’re not up on our Turkish financial analysis.

After quoting the performance capability of the Sazan, the only thing we can comment for now is its looks. It possesses some TVR features, but generally it looks like the Ferrari F430 and Pagani Zonda. Its best angle can be viewed from its rear while its weakest on its side because of its old looking wheels.
