2011 Ford Mustang GT
by admin on Jan.06, 2010, under News
Next year’s still 2010 but we’ve caught up a tittle-tattle on the 2011 Ford Mustang. Sadly, what we have is just about one trim (out of the five, don’t know if they’re going to feature five trims for that year).
2011 Mustang GT may be bringing extra spice to luxury track roads come 2011 as the US auto magazine Car and Driver caught a sight of the of Mustang mules at a track event in Michigan showing off with Pirelli P Zero Corsa r-compound tires, which would be an upgrade on the current Track Pack for the GT that features the mere Pirelli P Zero. Those top-grade tires can be found in far more posh super cars such as the Lambo Gallardo LP560-4 and the Ferrari F430 Scuderia. (source: Worldcarfans.com). Expert says that this modification on the tires gives relative enhancement on the track time of the 2010 GT. On the record that they had, the car tip the clock with lap time around the 1.88-mile (3 km) GingerMan Raceway in South Haven, Michigan from 1m39.7s to the lower end of 1m38s.
If this is what they had for the 2010, of course, they won’t let the 2011 model be left out by its older sister. So, what may be in the offing for the 2011 Mustang GT? Well, the new aluminum (32-valve) 5.0 liter engine producing about 400 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque (542 Nm). The new engine, referred to as the “Coyote”, will make the GT more spirited than the Chevy Camaro SS, which sports 426 horses under the hood.
Whew! I hope that the Chevy Camaro SS will also have something to battle up with the 2011 Mustang GT. If that happens, that will surely be a cutthroat fight between the two.

Lamborghini Reventon

Lamborghini Reventon
The launch of Lamborghini Reventon was followed rapidly by a lot of enthusiasts who wanted their hands on Reventon. Now that some of the big names like Mercedes have finished revealing their hot beasts, then Lamborghini has put them to shame! This car was a special rebodied version of Lamborghini’s flagship supercar. Reventon redefines its style, elegance and insanity. We can add Reventon to the list of hot cars to own but as powerful as it is, this car is considered as the most expensive Lamborghini. It’s interesting to find out that despite the exterior being new, the exterior styling was inspired by fighter jets. The exterior was more of steel and is formed by carbon fiber material, renowned for being both light and strong. Inside the car, we can expect more carbon fiber and a unique aviation-themed LCD instrumentation.
Reventon is an awesome car and reminds me of a Batmobile. Enthusiasts are just mesmerized by how different Reventon is. The Lamborghini Reventon is not just destined to remain a one-off. Future Reventon owners will naturally enjoy the incomparable pleasure of driving it.
2009 Volkswagen Eos ultimate versatility
by admin on Jan.01, 2010, under News
The 2009 Volkswagen Eos is a front-wheel-drive, two-door convertible with four seats. It offers sun lovers ultimate versatility with its retractable hardtop and built-in sunroof. The EOS takes its name from Greek mythology goddess of dawn, which is appropriate name for a car that offers passengers the opportunity to absorb much sunlight. This four-person convertible features a five-panel retractable hardtop design with the open-air experience of a traditional ragtop when lowered, and the comfort and rigidity of a fixed roof when raised. Because of its size, quality and price, the nearest rival of EOS is the new BMW 128i convertible.
The Volkswagen Eos model is powered by the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, which makes 200 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque. The innovative retractable hardtop is still the main attraction in the 2009 Volkswagen EOS. The multifunction glass top drops with a respectable 25 seconds, but requires 16 inches behind the car to work. Fortunately, the rear sensors warn you if you do not have enough space.
The Eos seems to be geared more toward those looking for a relaxed touring convertible rather than a sports car. Steering and handling aren’t bad on average city streets, but the Eos can’t quite cut it on the twisty back roads. The ride quality is comfortable, although the roof will sometimes rattle when stowed.
Hummer Sold by GM, Chevy Caprice – Police Car
by admin on Dec.31, 2009, under News
Sorry Hummer fans. Your high powered vehicle is now released by one of the world’s biggest car manufacturer in the planet, not to mention the millions of dollars lost and thousands of people who lost their jobs under this car manufacturer during the global recession.
On GM’s side, this transaction unloads a bi burden off their shoulders. The sale only cost at around $150 million dollars for the sale of this brand to China’s Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery Co. If evaluated, the amount of money involved is just small but this will really help GM on their financial lost.
According to Fritz Henderson, GM President and CEO, “HUMMER is a strong global niche brand and this agreement signifies another important milestone in writing the next chapter for both GM and HUMMER”. “For HUMMER, the combination of its knowledgeable leadership team, vehicle design expertise and the capital financing of Tengzhong portend a successful future.” And as a result of the deal, around 3,000 jobs are expected to be saved.
On the other hand, the struggling auto maker also revived one of their fairly good cars into a police patrol car. The Chevy Caprice is now being catered as a police patrol car for the North American Market. It is a good thing that GM came out with the idea because they realized that the Caprice (the same as the Pontiac G8) is too good to waste.
The Chevy Caprice police car will initially be powered by an E85-compatible 6.0-liter V8 that produces 355 horsepower and 385 lb-ft. of torque. The engine is mated to a six-speed automatic and, like the G8, power is transferred to the real wheels. GM says the cop car reaches 0 to 60 mph in less than six seconds.
What’s At Stake for a Whopping $44, 000?
by admin on Dec.29, 2009, under News
Last April 2009, the car maker Lexus already announced what is in store for car enthusiasts and convertible lovers come 2010 for a whopping $44,000. It’s the 2010 IS350C retractable hardtop convertible!
Continuing with the tradition of the car maker, that is, to produce only certified-luxurious sporty sedans, they launched the 2010 IS 350C. This convertible also has the “sporty styling” of a coupe while still retaining and even mounting the luxuriousness. Want it? Well, you got to have roughly $44,000 to own it! Pretty expensive you might say but that’s still $20,000 behind its sister Lexus SC430 and still way practical to buy than its counterparts from other car makes. In any case, these are the specs and features that come with the 2010 model.
· A three-panel roof that opens in just 20 seconds
· Chiefly constructed of lightweight aluminum that helps achieve smooth, quiet retraction
· Provides efficient packaging and luggage space
· Contains a 3.5-liter, 306-hp V6 with a six-speed automatic
· adjustments to the body structure and suspension provide “torsional” firmness and ride comfort with the top down, and low Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) on par with the IS sedan when in coupe configuration.
· Instrument gauges have been revised to help increase visibility during top-down driving, and the climate-control system has a speed-sensitive control feature that automatically increases air flow when the top is down while also automatically adjusting to vehicle speed.
On the exterior, the car comes with the following innovations:
· A sleek aerodynamic design and a collection of underbody covers help achieve its lowest possible drag coefficient – 0.29 Cd versus the IS sedan’s 0.27 Cd – while creating minimal wind turbulence in the cabin.
· Fresh fog-lamp design
· New combination tail-lamp clusters feature LED lights; a LED brake light is integrated within the standard rear spoiler.
Well, those are just few of the many clever innovations that you can get in exchange of your $44,000. There’s still a lot that weren’t mentioned here but you can still check out the other details at japanesesportscars.com. Now, are you ready to spare your $44,000?

by admin on Dec.28, 2009, under News
We know so far that only few automakers are deeply attached in motorsport as Lotus. So it comes as no surprise that the British sports carmaker has come up with a racing version of its new Evora that is based on the previously launch award winning street car. This car tagged with Type 124 label is converted from four seats to one. The 124 label marks the beginning of a new era in Lotus endurance racing that will showcase the efficiency, handling and durability characteristics of the Evora. Some modification includes lower sections of the front and rear clamshells and the side sills.
Given the reports about how wonderful this car is, I bet more people would absolutely love driving this skinny rocket racecar. Lotus Cars Limited is just proud of their motorsport history, which includes victories in Formula 1, Le Mans, Saloon car, rally car and sports car racing. The car is expected to compete with ADAC and to other endurance races in Malaysia, Dubai and UK in 2010 and 2011.

Silence of the Lanes: The 2009 Toyota Prius
by admin on Dec.24, 2009, under News
What is the best hybrid car on the market? Well, most hybrid car owners will tell you that the best hybrid is the one that they drive. The Toyota Prius would have to be the choice for the most compact, yet still stylish, hybrid car.
The 2010 Toyota Prius occupies 4 of 24 medium-sized affordable cars. It’s a huge improvement over the outgoing model. Not only is the interior vastly improved, the car gets even better mileage: It’s now rated at 51/48 mpg city/highway, 50 mpg combined. Both the electric motor and gasoline engine is improved. It also shares the hood bulge like other Toyota sedans, and lost the horizontal bar through the back window that interfered with visibility in the previous edition.
The new Prius might look similar to the outgoing version, still distinctive with its five-door coupe side profile and steeply raked front and rear sections. Although the size, specification and performance have increased, prices have changed very little. Expensive, but residual values are high, so it makes the most expensive initial purchase price.
A clean, futuristic dashboard serves as a simple difference of sample complexity aboard the Toyota Prius, and large windows provide great visibility everywhere. Style in the 2009 Toyota Prius once considered radical, but it became unimaginative and best Hybrid car.
