2011 Ford Mustang GT

by admin on Jan.06, 2010, under News

Next year’s still 2010 but we’ve caught up a tittle-tattle on the 2011 Ford Mustang. Sadly, what we have is just about one trim (out of the five, don’t know if they’re going to feature five trims for that year).

2011 Mustang GT may be bringing extra spice to luxury track roads come 2011 as the US auto magazine Car and Driver caught a sight of the of Mustang mules at a track event in Michigan showing off with Pirelli P Zero Corsa r-compound tires, which would be an upgrade on the current Track Pack for the GT that features the mere Pirelli P Zero. Those top-grade tires can be found in far more posh super cars such as the Lambo Gallardo LP560-4 and the Ferrari F430 Scuderia. (source: Worldcarfans.com). Expert says that this modification on the tires gives relative enhancement on the track time of the 2010 GT. On the record that they had, the car tip the clock with lap time around the 1.88-mile (3 km) GingerMan Raceway in South Haven, Michigan from 1m39.7s to the lower end of 1m38s.

If this is what they had for the 2010, of course, they won’t let the 2011 model be left out by its older sister. So, what may be in the offing for the 2011 Mustang GT? Well, the new aluminum (32-valve) 5.0 liter engine producing about 400 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque (542 Nm). The new engine, referred to as the “Coyote”, will make the GT more spirited than the Chevy Camaro SS, which sports 426 horses under the hood.

Whew! I hope that the Chevy Camaro SS will also have something to battle up with the 2011 Mustang GT. If that happens, that will surely be a cutthroat fight between the two.

2010 Mustang Cobra Revealed

by admin on Nov.24, 2009, under News

Ford Racing has recently unveiled 2010 Cobra Jet Mustang at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show which was held at Las Vegas, Nevada. The car is designed to be a factory-built race car intended for National Hot Rod Association (NHRA) Stock and Super Stock Racing.

The car’s features are mostly based on the 2008 Mustang Cobra Jet, which was released last year. Ford decided to give a follow-up as the 2008 version was a huge success with all the units selling out well even before the production started. The 2010 predecessor is gradually proving its worth so this is not bad decision for the company.

The new Jet Mustang will have an impressive 5.4-liter V8 engine which is capable to deliver at 475 horsepower. However, the engines will come in different blocks. The base Cobra Jet will have its engine in cast iron block present in GT500 and ‘08 CJ while the Super Cobra Jet will have its engine in a lighter aluminum block material.  In addition to engine upgrades, all 2010 Cobra Jets will have the following improved features:

  • Aeromotive return type system fuel system
  • Fabricated aluminum intercooler tank (this is an improvement from the plastic tank)
  • Fans to the intercooler to help control temperature
  • Line locks to help avoid rear brake burnouts
  • Fuse panel behind the glove box cover
  • Full set of racing safety harnesses
  • Fastened air bag for easy access

The new 2010 will have a price range from $77,000 to $95,000.  This car is obviously a hit to the racers as the 50 units have already been delivered to the dealers. For enthusiasts who missed purchasing the 50 units, Ford has promised to provide future versions of the Cobra Jet.

2011 Ford Focus – The New Revelation

by admin on Oct.23, 2009, under All Car Wallpapers, News

Ford Focus fanatics out there should be really happy and proud with this latest version of the Focus which will have its debut on the second quarter of 2011. This Focus would be a full electric prototype of the 2009 Focus. I myself can’t really wait for the release of this wonderful creation.

The 2011 focus will be a completely redesigned package of the 2009 Focus. It will have an impressive renovation all over having a new transmission which includes an Eco Boost engine, high efficiency powertrains, and a lot of interior and exterior modifications. According to the car manufacturers, it will utilize up-to-the-minute technology like green-tech engineering and so much more. Having this statement being said, no wonder that this car would be one of the much awaited vehicles on 2011.

Well, maybe some of you are wondering on who will bring this Ford Focus into life by 2011. With the growing issues of bankruptcy in the automotive industry in the United States, some of you might be thinking that Ford in America could not possibly make this project. For those of you who think this way, you are indeed right. Ford Europe would take over on this project to re invent the Focus. The Ford Focus is Ford’s bread and butter car in Europe, and with a new replacement of the Horizon, Ford will not hold back on making it the best in its class. The aim is to trim upfront expenses and increase manufacturing economies of scale with a solitary fundamental design that can be built and sold elsewhere, rather than having contrasting regional variations.

When it comes to the pricing, according to the reviews, it will range at around $17,000 up to the mid-$20,000s which is just a little more pricy than the today’s Focus but with better features in.

So for those who cannot wait for the 2011 Focus, just be patient. This is just a prelude for more revelations that are yet to come.
