by admin on Jan.18, 2010, under News

When you hear the word Volkswagen, what is the first thing that comes into your mind? Probably a beetle or a bug type of car isn’t it? Well, aside from being the top car manufacturer nowadays, volks has already developed car hybrids to cope up with today’s car industry. They have made the VW Up Lite which is a concept hybrid car that is designed to emit only about 65g per kilometer of carbon dioxide. Isn’t that great?
Well, it is a concept but we do hope it becomes a reality. According to the research and development team of the VW crew, there is a great possibility that this will be pursued. And it is nearing the production scheme. Basically, the specs of this vw hybrid is very nice. It is equipped with an 800cc twin-cylinder engine and it is loaded with balance shafts. And it is very lightweight. It will run like the city car and it also has this engine boost.
When it actually becomes a reality, many people would want it. And it will be a suburban transport that may be big in production.

2009 Volkswagen Eos ultimate versatility

by admin on Jan.01, 2010, under News

The 2009 Volkswagen Eos is a front-wheel-drive, two-door convertible with four seats. It offers sun lovers ultimate versatility with its retractable hardtop and built-in sunroof. The EOS takes its name from Greek mythology goddess of dawn, which is appropriate name for a car that offers passengers the opportunity to absorb much sunlight. This four-person convertible features a five-panel retractable hardtop design with the open-air experience of a traditional ragtop when lowered, and the comfort and rigidity of a fixed roof when raised. Because of its size, quality and price, the nearest rival of EOS is the new BMW 128i convertible.

The Volkswagen Eos model is powered by the same 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine, which makes 200 horsepower and 207 pound-feet of torque. The innovative retractable hardtop is still the main attraction in the 2009 Volkswagen EOS. The multifunction glass top drops with a respectable 25 seconds, but requires 16 inches behind the car to work. Fortunately, the rear sensors warn you if you do not have enough space.

The Eos seems to be geared more toward those looking for a relaxed touring convertible rather than a sports car. Steering and handling aren’t bad on average city streets, but the Eos can’t quite cut it on the twisty back roads. The ride quality is comfortable, although the roof will sometimes rattle when stowed.
